16 June 2014, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, is pleased to launch the ZXDSL 98x6V series of multi-dwelling units (MDU) to allow customers to save up to half the installation space and unlock improved performance from their copper access networks through vectoring technology.
Comprising the ZXDSL 9836V and ZXDSL 9806V, the new series offers the most compact vectoring MDUs in the industry, helping customers to save between 30% to 50% of cabinet space compared with similar products currently on the market. Supporting high density deployment and low power consumption, the ZXDSL 98x6V series is designed to deliver medium- and small-capacity copper coverage and drive performance acceleration of copper access networks in equipment room and FTTB/C modes.

Faced with the challenges of providing increasing bandwidth and managing network evolution, operators need to fully utilize their copper access networks. Vectoring is a technology that is rapidly gaining traction among operators seeking to add value and extract improved performance from their copper network assets. ZTE’s ZXDSL 9836V is a 3U MDU capable of delivering 384-line vectoring access, while the ZXDSL 9806V is a 2U MDU with a 256-line capacity.
Another feature of the ZXDSL 98x6V MDUs is that they provide dedicated VCE (Vectoring Control Engine) slots to facilitate upgrades and maintenance. With ZTE’s technology, operators can use vectoring-ready cards to offer common VDSL2 services in early stages of deployment before adding one or two VCE cards to deliver vectoring functionality in later stages. This mechanism allows operators to deploy the MDUs as needed and optimize investments.
ZTE introduced the world’s first system-level vectoring prototype in 2010 and then became the first vendor to debut a commercial vectoring version in 2012. The launch of the ZXDSL 9836V series shows that ZTE boasts growing capabilities to offer industry-leading vectoring solutions.
